We have six DFSR/DFS Namespace servers which replicate between two sites - three on each site running Windows Server 2012 R2. I have been trying to give my users access to these servers over VPN for iOS devices using FileExplorer, which didn't work. I tried a few other apps, none of which worked. I then tried the servers in my second site, which are fresh off the shelf with not many updates installed - and those work. Similarly, our printers won't scan to folder to the primary site file servers, but will to the secondary (they are HP printers).
I am betting my money that Windows Server 2012 R2 has recently had an update which has pushed up the version of SMB that's enforced, or something along those lines, and it has broken quite a number of things in my office.
1) Does anyone know which update may have done this (so I can uninstall it)? and
2) Does anyone know a fix for these symptoms at all?
My research has pointed me nowhere so far.
Thanks.
