DFS NameSpace on Windows 2003

Hi,  Just like a lot of you, we am trying to remove our 2003 servers.

I had 3 DFS namespace servers sharing the same root folder. 2 were 2003 DCs and the other 2012 DC.  Yesterday, I removed(dcpromo to remove it) the 2003 server which created the root folder many years ago, but the other 2 DCs are running.

Now many of the users can't connect/login into the DFS namespace root folder.  The current domain function level is Server 2003, but the DFS type domain level is 2000.

How can I fix this...?  Will removing the 2012 server or 2003 server from the DFS Namespace fix it...?
