We have two of our dfs target root servers in one office when people connect to them it shows one folder that has random characters and when you click on it, it will list one of the folders that should be on the DFS Root server. If you point them to a different root server, everything works fine. I am trying to understand why these two servers would just show only 1 random folder and not the full list of folders and what can be done to fix it.
Second, how can you change the permissions so the end user can change the dfs root target on the folder without needed admin rights.
All of this is running on windows server 2008r2.
The random folder that shows us is DFS.a49281c1-1059-44d2-82f0-795010bcc4a6Information Technology
