I have two Windows servers, one 2008 Standard and another 2008R2 Standard.
There were DFS replication between them. I deleted all folder replication.
Both of them are still the namespace servers, but only one is the real file server, where the folders are located.
On both servers, there are "System Volume Information\DFSR\Private" folders, that take a lot of space.
My question is, are those "Private" folders deleted automatically or do i have to do it manually?
After all replications were deleted, both server logged these two events:
"The DFS Replication service has detected that all replicated folders on volume have been disabled or deleted. " ID 2010
"The DFS Replication service stopped replication on volume " ID 2008
DFS type: Domain (Windows 2000 Server mode)
