Following the last series of Windows updates, I'm experiencing problems with our WS2012R2 Essentials server. When opening the Dashboard, the 'home:getting started' tab shows all correct except 'server folders n/a'. On checking the Storage tab, the normal display for 'server folders' and 'hard drives' just shows 'refreshing list of items'.
Despite symptoms above, Storage Space and Server Folders show correctly in server Windows Explorer and are available to client computers across the LAN. It just appears that for some reason the Dashboard cannot see them.
One other related symptom I've noted is that for some reason the 'wsestoragesvc' Windows Server Essentials Storage Service no longer starts automatically. Even when started manually Dashboard symptoms remain - server folders and hard drives aren't visible on dashboard.
I've run sfc /scannow to check for problems - all clear and run chkdsk on the system volume.
Would welcome ideas on what steps to be taken to fix problem. Many thanks..
