DFS Question - replication

Hi,

Please can somebody explain the following:

our DFS share is:

\\domain\dfs\folders\files

when going to the exact same path directly to the share on a server:

\\server\folders\files

The files in here are different.  Can somebody please explain to me which takes precedence, the actual share or the dfs share.

I.E if someone creates a file in the dfs path this should get replicated to the actual local server share - which it is not doing all the time at the moment.

If someone creates a file in the actual server share path locally on the server, will DFS pick this up and replicate to other DFS servers?
